Pro Regionals: 2nd Place and Nationals Qualification

We are delighted to announce that yesterday at the West Midlands Regional competition, we placed 2nd overall! This is the placement we needed to be invited to the UK National Finals, giving us a chance to progress to the World Finals. This is the first chance a team from our school has had to reach this milestone, and with our win yesterday we further extended our lead as the most successful team to race from our school.
Fastest Car
Alongside our second place finish, we also won fastest car. Being a massive achievement for our engineering team. Our winning race time was 1.121, making us extremely competitive entering Nationals.
Other Achievements
Other wins included being nominated for best sponsorship and marketing, as well as being nominated for best portfolios. Demonstrating how our strengths are spread across our functional areas and team. In terms of the next steps for Nationals, we are waiting for the results on our scorecards, showing us where our weaknesses lie, hopefully being able to fix these errors to be even more competitive when fighting to be the best in the UK.
Mentoring Success
During this season, we have been mentoring the younger teams. This has proved to be successful with the 2026 Regionals bringing home the most awards in the UTC's history. Overall, the teams brought home 7 awards. With our development teams taking home 5 between the three of them. Ignite won the best engineered car award, Project Inertia was awarded the research and development award as well as placing 2nd overall in development division, and finally, British Racing Green won fastest dev car and won Regionals for their class. This means we will be joined at Nationals by two other teams from our school, and with our help we hope they can continue succeeding in the competition.
Thank You
We want to take this opportunity to thank our dedicated sponsors, helping us to achieve these milestones not only for our school, but for us, aiding us in our professional careers as well. So thank you for all your support and we can't wait to continue racing alongside you!
