Regional Success: 2nd Place and Nationals Qualification

We are extremely proud to announce that we placed 2nd out of over 40 competitors for a place at Nationals!
Competition Day
We had a long day full of surprises which ended with an amazing result. This opportunity has already been an unbelievable experience, and this is just the start. We hope to share more successes in the future and are proud to wear our sponsors' logos whilst competing.
A special thank you to DLA Town Planning for attending and supporting us even further on race day. As well as placing 2nd overall, we were also nominated for the best pit display award which we narrowly missed out on to the team that won overall.
Team Changes
All members of the team came together to make this happen. Our months of hard work paid off, getting the result we needed to progress further into the competition.
We are sad to announce that our manufacturing engineer Savannah is stepping down. This is her personal choice as she lives a busy life and unfortunately does not have the time to continue competing with us. We will greatly miss her and the expertise she provided us with.
Our new manufacturing engineer will be Thomas Bell. We are very excited to see how he can help us and aid us for a good result in nationals. We sent out applications to interested candidates and were highly impressed with his experience, passion and innovative ideas. Welcome Thomas to Revolution Racing!
Preparing for Nationals
Our next steps involve reading the new regulations for nationals. Every component needs to be polished as well as having an overall higher workload. This includes:
- Our portfolios being 5 pages longer
- Our presentation being 5 minutes longer
- A completely different set of rules for the car
The expectations and standards will be a lot higher, with us now competing to be the best development division team in the country. This event will be livestreamed on YouTube, so you can watch us compete live. Here we will be interviewed by the presenters and will meet teams from across the UK.
World Championship Goals
Nationals is on the 26th to the 27th of March, so we have a short turnover to reach our deadlines. To set realistic expectations, the world championships will be a difficult goal to achieve due to the structure of the competition.
We race in the development division as it is our first year of racing. All pro division teams who win nationals will go to worlds, however, one development division team will get the wild card (if the judges see fit) to attend the world championship. This means we would have to be the best development team in the world and impress the judges enough to get the wild card.
Whilst we will give everything to reach this milestone, we will hopefully be racing in the pro division next year, helping our chances of reaching the world championships.
