UK National Finals Success: 7th Place and Best Pit Display Winners

We're thrilled to share our incredible achievements at the UK National Finals. Your support has been instrumental in our success, and we're proud to have represented our sponsors on the national stage.
Competition Results
On 26-27 March, the team competed in the UK National Finals. We are delighted to announce that we walked away with the award for the best pit display, as well as placing 7th overall in the UK. This is more than we could have hoped for, with this score making us the most successful team to ever race from our school.
The event itself was an incredible opportunity for us, from meeting F1 industry professionals to meeting other teams. We were honoured to be able to compete in such a passionate environment.
Notable Moments
Some other notable events included:
- Andrew Denford, the founder and chairman of F1 in Schools, admitting how he would love to see us win and speaking with us personally
- Being repeatedly praised by the host Radzi (who has presented the Olympics, Blue Peter and Crufts) on our professionalism and how we seemed as if we have been media trained
- Representing not only our brand identity and school but all of our sponsors in front of lights and cameras
Team Performance
This is a time for all members to be proud of their achievements as our individual skills came together to produce this amazing result. Everyone had worked flat out over the month to change over from Regionals to comply with the tougher Nationals regulations.
- Specifically, we value:
- Harry for his incredible car designs and dedication to testing
- Thomas for his manufacturing and blender skills
- Adam for his finance management, ensuring we could compete
- Fiona for her reaction times and management, giving us the edge over our competitors
- Tom for his perfect graphics, aiding us in winning best pit display
- Amy for maintaining our brand identity and the media training
Looking Forward
Whilst this is the end of our racing season in the development division, we will be racing again next year in the pro division. This means we have the opportunity to race in the World Finals next year if we place within the top 3 in Nationals. This is our goal.
With the team reading over our new regulations in school the day after the competition, wasting no time familiarising ourselves with the challenge ahead. We were repeatedly told how impressive our result was for our rookie year, with many competitors having been in the competition for multiple years. This has given us even more confidence heading into our pro season.
